Day 20

Day 20 – Sunday May 13th

A – Today's reading of the day is James Chapter 5 (NLT for me.)

Focal verse today is James 5:12 "But most of all, my brothers and sisters, never take an oath, by heaven or earth or anything else. Just say a simple yes or no, so that you will not sin and be condemned."

Review of the day: Verse 10 "For examples of patience in suffering, dear brothers and sisters, look at the prophets who spoke in the name of the Lord."  Verse 11 "We give great honor to those who endure under suffering. For instance, you know about Job, a man of great endurance. You can see how the Lord was kind to him at the end, for the Lord is full of tenderness and mercy."

B – RHEMA Strike Verse of the day: Micah 6:8 "He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the LORD require of you but to do justice, to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?"    (Knowledge/Blue)

C – Excerpt from "Wild at Heart" by John Eldridge:
"A man is fierce ... passionate ... wild at heart? You wouldn't know it from what normally walks around in a pair of trousers. If a man is the image of the Lion of Judah, how come there are so many lonely women, so many fatherless children, so few men around?"

D – Today's input:  Where can you go (or get to) on your own?  I'm sure a lot of us could show a lot of what we've accomplished and things that we have done.  You may be smarter than the average bear and maybe even stronger than one.  But where does that actually get you?  Maybe with men it gets you pretty far.  Look back at your accomplishments and see what you can credit God with.  You should be able to credit Him with everything you've done.  That is unless you've done something in a way that wouldn't be looked upon the right way.  You may have to re-think that accomplishment and think about tossing it aside.  Do and keep that which is right.

E – Today's prayer focus:  Pray to God in a blessing of what He has accomplished in you and with what He has done through you.  Thank Him for your strengths and also thank Him for your weaknesses.

F – Encouragement and closing thoughts: Our weakness is His strength.  Don't attempt to cover up a shortcoming, instead learn to trust God more in that area.  Let your 'yes' be 'yes' – don't hide behind lies any longer.
