Quest NW - Spring 2012

Hi Guys,

The 30 days of prep for “Quest NW – Spring” started the 12th of April.

Josh Singleton will be sending out a daily email that I hope will be a blessing for us all as we prepare for our Quest. It will contain the daily devotions for the next day.  If you get behind do the devotion for the day you get back and only one of any you missed.  Meaning if you miss three devotions do that day's devotion along with one missed devotion for the next three days.  We will also try and update these notes here and on Facebook each day.

Each time we have a Quest the daily devotions have slight changes from the time before (such as date, day of the week, minor content, etc.), so we apologize for any discrepancies within emails and posts.

We will be trying to keep a format that will be for ease of understanding. Subject to change from inputs as the month goes on.

This format will be:

A – Reading of the day from the Book of James
Note:  There are 5 chapters so if you are reading one chapter a day for the entire 30 days you will have read the Book of James 6 times. This is important because being familiar with James prior to the Quest will help with your understanding and relating to what will be taught, studied, and experienced during the Quest.
- a focal verse from the daily chapter
- a brief review of the day about the chapter

B – “RHEMA Strike Verse” of the day (work on memorizing these)
Note:  There will be seven lessons at the Quest and each of them is assigned one of these verses. Each lesson works in step and knowing the verse that goes with the lesson helps with your progress through the steps. There are also some group events that involve knowing these verses.
(Proverbs 27:17 - James 1:12 – Jeremiah 17:9 – Galatians 2:20 – 1 Kings 2:2 – Micah 6:8 – 2 Samuel 10:12)

C – Excerpt from “Wild at Heart” by John Eldridge
Note:  The Quest isn’t necessarily about this book and this book isn’t necessarily about the Quest but the book does give you some thoughts into some of the areas that will be covered at the Quest. Whether you agree with everything in the book or not, it is interesting reading. Let Pastor Dale know if you need your own copy of the book.

D – Input (from Josh, Chris, or the Staff)

E – Daily prayer focuses

F – Encouragement and closing thoughts

If you are doing as much of this as possible you will be ahead of the game. Each person will have a different experience and outcome and it isn’t for us to force or determine what we would like to happen. We need to be willing to let God do his part.

More than anything we just ask that you go into the Quest prepared to meet with God and have God meet with you. Anything and everything else you, me, or anyone else may think or say means little compared to what God thinks or has to say to and with you.

If at anytime you have any questions or comments feel free to contact one of the Staff members. I hope I haven’t completely confused you with all of this.

If any of you are even half as excited about the Quest as we are then we are in for a real good time. Please keep each other in prayer.
